Carnival 2008 - Fairy Tales
A welcome from the Vicar
Welcome to St Mary’s Village Carnival. Every year the local church and our village communities come together to provide a day of fun for everyone. This year is no exception. Whether you live locally or are a visitor to our villages, I hope you have an enjoyable and memorable day.
To provide entertainment for so many people is a serious business, and we are grateful to the stalwarts on the Organizing Committee who work so hard to bring everything together. But there is another serious side to the venture, for it raises money for charity. The bulk of the profits is shared between our Parish Church’s Fabric Fund (further major repairs to the roof have been undertaken this year) and one specially chosen charity, while small grants are paid to many local good causes to support the excellent work they do in our community. This year, the major beneficiary will be the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which gets people in our region to life-saving medical facilities quickly.
Have a great time today, and be generous in spending, for you can be assured that all the money will be used to improve life for the people of our villages.
